Job Summary
The Supply Management Planner I supports strategic sourcing, supplier management, supply planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role focuses on supplier performance, quality, delivery, material replenishment, cost reduction, risk mitigation, and cross-functional coordination with Engineering, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
As a Continuous Improvement (CI Buyer), the role also supports cost-reduction projects and Engineering Change Management (ECM) activities to ensure product changes are implemented efficiently and without disruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and, when required, lead strategic sourcing and supply management activities.
- Develop and maintain supply sources for materials, products, supplies, and services.
- Monitor supplier quality, delivery, performance, and material replenishment.
- Address chronic supplier performance issues and support supplier validation.
- Facilitate supplier quality-planning activities.
- Manage cost-reduction and risk-mitigation projects and ensure timely execution.
- Support the Engineering Change Management (ECM) process for product changes and improvements.
- Work with Engineering and suppliers on product specifications and recommend solutions that balance quality and total cost.
- Develop and communicate implementation plans to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret supply-chain and supplier data.
- Plan and coordinate product/process testing and inspections.
- Implement and monitor corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review current processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Resolve supplier and internal/external customer issues within established policies and procedures.
- Prepare, update, and maintain reports, databases, and Microsoft Office documents.
- Support best practices and process improvements across the organization.

Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of Supply Chain experience.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and maintaining effective supplier communication.
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing or factory environment.
- Experience with supply planning, strategic sourcing, or continuous improvement.
- Experience with cost reduction, risk mitigation, or Engineering Change Management.
Education
Short-cycle tertiary education is listed as the baseline qualification.
Ideally, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience in:
