What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Assistant / Barista position at Three Peaches Gelato & Coffee?
Three Peaches Gelato & Coffee in Atlanta, GA is looking for one kitchen assistant / barista to join our 14 person strong team. We are located on 985 Monroe Drive Northeast. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and engaged.
A typical work time for this position is Tues- Friday, 4-7 hours shifts between 7am and 3pm, 20-30hr/week mostly day shifts.
$15-$18/hour based on experience, skill, and efficiency
Responsibilities
- Prep and assisting gelato production
- Assist in baking cafe baked goods for sale at the shop and wholesale
- Support the kitchen operations by performing essential tasks to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. This includes tasks like washing, peeling, and preparing food ingredients, cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen, assisting with preparation, and restocking supplies. Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety standards.
- Monitoring inventory and assisting with ordering supplies.
- FOH barista
Qualifications
- Barista experience
- Experience in the restaurant industry
- Experience or an interest in baking and gelato making
- Performing other tasks as assigned by the kitchen staff.
- Baking/Cooking: 1 year, ServeSafe, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to enjoy working with others
- Keenness to follow instructions and prepare ingredients according to the Chef’s instructions
- Organization skills and the ability to keep track of kitchen inventory
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and methods
- Understanding of health and safety regulations regarding food preparation and storage
- Basic understanding of how to use kitchen equipment
