About the Role
The Warehouse Quality Control (QC) Specialist ensures that all 3 Little Pigs products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. From receiving to shipping, you’ll be hands-on on the warehouse floor—inspecting materials, monitoring processes, collecting samples, documenting findings, and supporting our HACCP, GMP, USDA, and company quality programs.
This role requires a sharp eye, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Some commuting between two nearby sites (10 minutes apart) may be required.
What You’ll Do
Receiving – Quality Checks & Documentation
Inspect incoming ingredients and supplies for quality, labeling, temperature, and accuracy.
Ensure all receiving procedures meet USDA, FDA, and internal standards.
Document deviations and communicate issues promptly.
Food Safety, Compliance & Traceability
Perform routine GMP, sanitation, allergen, pest control, and food safety checks.
Assist during audits and inspections; support corrective actions.
Maintain accurate lot code, batch tracking, and traceability in the warehouse management system.
Sampling, Testing & Records
Collect samples for microbiological, shelf-life, and product quality testing.
Complete accurate QC logs, inspection forms, and verification documents.
Support internal audits and defect management processes.
Training & Continuous Improvement
Help train warehouse staff in GMPs, sanitation, and quality standards.
Participate in root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions.
Recommend improvements to QC processes and systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with warehouse, sanitation, production, and maintenance teams to maintain quality and safety at every step.
Communicate proactively to uphold a culture of quality and accountability.
Shipping – Final Quality Assurance
Inspect outgoing finished product for weight, labeling, temperature, and quality compliance.
Document any issues and escalate to QA leadership as necessary.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred.
1–3 years of QC experience in food manufacturing (USDA facility experience a plus).
Technical Skills
Understanding of HACCP, GMPs, USDA/FDA regulations, and food safety systems.
Experience with thermometers, scales, pH meters, and other QC instruments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and completing digital and physical documentation.
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Clear verbal and written communication.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Work Schedule & Environment
Shifts:
1st Shift: 7:00 am–3:30 pm
Early or late shifts may be required based on production needs.
Environment: Standing/walking for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs., working in refrigerated and production environments, PPE required.
