About the Position
Three Lakes Hardware is hiring a hands-on Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily retail operations in our independent hardware store.
This is a working leadership role. You will manage inventory, support staff, assist customers, handle cash controls, and help strengthen store systems. You will be on the sales floor every day.
We are rebuilding and improving operations and are looking for someone steady, practical, and ownership-minded.
Key Responsibilities
- Open and close the store
- Oversee inventory receiving, counts, and ordering
- Improve merchandising and product presentation
- Support and supervise retail staff
- Deliver consistent, professional customer service
- Maintain POS systems and daily reporting
- Communicate with vendors
- Perform physical tasks (lifting, stocking, organizing)
Qualifications
- 3 years of retail, hardware, or store leadership experience
- Inventory management and cash handling experience
- Comfortable with POS systems and basic computer tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Weekend and peak season availability
- Valid driver’s license
Due to the on-site nature of this role, candidates should reside within a reasonable driving distance of Three Lakes or have firm plans to relocate locally.
