Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient interviews to gather complete medical history, including allergies, current medications, past surgeries, and family history.
- Complete physical and verbal assessments before admission to identify any surgical concerns.
- Order any pre-op tests needed, including blood work, EKGs, x-rays, etc.
- Educate patients and families.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
- Consistently review your charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure
- Will cross train to PreOp and PACU to assist as needed
Requirements:
- Associates Degree
- BSN Preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
- Current Registered Nurse License
- Current BCLS and ACLS Certifications
