Charge Nurse Surgical Services FT Days

Responsibilities:

• Facilitates shift organization and management to achieve optimal patient appropriate resource utilization.
• Works collaboratively with physicians and nursing staff to ensure that quality and competent care is rendered in all phases of patient care within the units.
• Participates and contributes to high performing care delivery teams.
• Manages conflict and competing imperatives.
• Collaboration with perioperative team, the Recovery Room RN develops, coordinates, and implements a plan of care based on patient assessment, knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia plan, physician orders, application of relevant policies/procedures and AORN/ASPAN guidelines.
• Perform a comprehensive nursing assessment of the post-op patient and closely monitor vital signs and levels of consciousness as the patient recovers from the effects of anesthesia.
• Incorporate teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.

Requirements:

• Associates Degree; BSN preferred.
• Current NM RN License
• Current BLS, ACLS Certifications,
• 1-3 years hospital or surgery center experience.
• Critical Care or previous PACU experience preferred.
