How You Will Make An Impact
At ThredUp, we are processing unique secondhand clothing at unparalleled volumes and looking for an Industrial Engineer to support our rapidly growing operation. You will be designing, developing, modifying, and integrating computer-controlled electronic and mechanical systems for the automation of industrial tasks and enhancement of processing or production equipment.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work at our Distribution Center in Mechanicsburg, PA or Lancaster, TX, and visit remote DCs in the network to collaborate with the Industrial Engineering team and review existing automation systems.
In This Role You’ll Get To:
Project Management: Participate in the operational planning and implementation of multiple projects from deployment to closure.
Process Optimization: Assist in identifying areas of improvement in production processes and help develop strategies to enhance efficiency.
Workflow Analysis: Contribute to the analysis of current production workflows and assist in recommending changes to improve productivity.
Data Analysis: Collect and analyze production data under the guidance of senior engineers, using basic statistical methods.
Layout: Assist in the design and optimization of DC layouts and process.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
2 years of practical experience in industrial engineering roles, including experience with automation preferred.
Experience with project management.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (CAD) in 2D applications.
Familiarity with distribution centers and warehouses.
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills for internal and external collaboration and reporting.
Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Flexibility and adaptability to changes in project scope or requirements.
Proficiency in Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
Available for a minimum of 25% travel based on business needs that would require visits to other ThredUP distribution centers
If you don’t like spending your days in a cubicle, this is the perfect position for you. As part of the Industrial Engineering Team you will be expected to work in dynamic environments, bend down, reach overhead, lift/carry up to 30lbs and push/pull up to 150lbs.
At thredUP, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $85,000 and $95,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Many thredUP employees also have the opportunity to own shares of thredUP stock. thredUP employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing thredUP stock if voluntarily participating in thredUP’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Subject to eligibility requirements, you’ll also receive other benefits: Comprehensive medical & dental coverage, vision, 401k, life and disability insurance.
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
