Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, packaging, and processing outbound shipments to ensure products are delivered accurately, on time, and in excellent condition. This role supports manufacturing operations by coordinating daily shipments, maintaining shipping records, and working closely with Production, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams to meet customer and company requirements.
Duties
- Prepare and package finished goods according to customer specifications and company standards.
- Create shipping labels, bill of ladings, and other required documents using shipping software or Acumatica systems.
- Schedule pickups and coordinate with carriers, freight companies, and logistics partners.
- Verify orders for accuracy, including quantities, part numbers, and packaging requirements.
- Load trucks safely and efficiently using forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Maintain accurate shipping records, logs, and documentation for audits and compliance.
- Inspect finished goods and packaging to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Monitor shipping supplies and request replenishment as needed.
- Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and material tracking.
- Maintain the shipping area ensuring it is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Communicate shipment delays, shortages, or issues to internal teams.
- Follow all company safety protocols and production standards.
- Serves as backup for the Shipping Coordinator to ensure continuity of operations as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Productivity and timeliness in fulfilling Shipping schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and team development skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations, freight classifications, and packaging methods.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Acumatica experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
