Job Summary
The Meat Cutter is responsible for safely and efficiently cutting, trimming, deboning, and processing beef products according to company specifications, quality standards, and food safety regulations. This role requires precision, attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, debone, and portion beef primal cuts into specified retail and wholesale products.
- Operate hand tools and powered cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow production schedules and yield requirements to minimize waste.
- Inspect meat for quality, freshness, and defects.
- Maintain clean and sanitary work areas in compliance with USDA and OSHA standards.
- Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain product traceability and proper labeling.
- Assist with packaging, weighing, and boxing as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous meat cutting or meat processing experience required.
- Knowledge of beef cuts and knife skills preferred.
- Ability to work in cold environments (34°F – 40°F).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, bending, twisting, and lifting.
- Repetitive hand and wrist motion.
- Work in cold, wet, and noisy environments.
Work Environment
- Cold temperature processing rooms.
- Exposure to sharp tools and machinery.
- Fast-paced production environment.
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
