Client is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to support the design and development of advanced Nuclear Fuel Handling Systems for next-generation reactor projects.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Design nuclear fuel handling systems from requirements through final design
✅ Develop and manage engineering deliverables including:
- P&IDs
- 3D Models
- Interface Drawings
- Engineering Design Specifications
- System Design Descriptions
✅ Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities involving:
- Mechanical
- Structural
- Thermal
- Seismic
- Fluid Systems
- Instrumentation & Controls
✅ Apply and ensure compliance with industry standards:
- ASME Section III
- ASME NQA-1
- ASTM
- ANS
- IEEE
- NFPA
- ISO 9001
✅ Support testing, qualification programs, design reviews, and licensing activities.
Required Qualifications:
✔ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
✔ 10 years of mechanical systems design experience
✔ Direct experience with:
- Nuclear Reactors
- Nuclear Fuel Handling Systems
- Complex Mechanical Equipment Design
✔ Experience with ASME Section III
✔ Experience working under quality programs such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001
✔ Strong technical writing, communication, and leadership skills
Highly Desired:
⭐ High-temperature system design experience
⭐ Multi-disciplinary integration experience
⭐ Experience supporting nuclear licensing and safety analysis activities
⭐ Experience leading engineering design teams
