Primary Description
The goal of the AV Technician will be to provide a seamless experience of technology in worship for those in person as well as live streaming. The AV Tech is in charge of running the AV system on Sunday mornings 10:30am - 12:30pm (worship runs 11am - 12pm), including setting up the system each morning, monitoring live streaming, running media slides and video, and adjusting sound mix. The AV Tech will also work closely with the camera volunteer and monitor and occasionally engage facebook live conversations to ensure the most worshipful experience possible for those online. After worship, the AV Tech will upload the video from Facebook to YouTube including editing as necessary. The AV tech will document the names of those who attended online and properly shut down all computers, cameras and other equipment. The work will regularly require troubleshooting AV systems and training volunteers - the ability to maintain focus and multi-task will be key to the position. Future possibilities include media design as well as streaming to additional platforms and/or use of OBS.
Requirements
- Must have the means to arrive at the church on Sunday mornings to set up all technology, arriving by 10:30am (there is a bus stop at the church, and the position can be weekly or on a rotating basis with others)
- Excellent communication skills to work with pastor and other church staff
- Ability to multi-task and focus for the entire worship service
- Comfort with AV technology, including video and live streaming
- Ability to walk up and down steep stairs (AV system is in the balcony)
- Education - High school or college student preferred
Pay
- $35-40 per worship service depending on expertise
