What are the responsibilities and job description for the LAUNDRY AIDE position at Thornton Heights Terrace?
Thornton Heights Terrace, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility, has a job opportunity for someone interested in serving this special population. Our philosophy insures that our 210 ambulatory adults with a history of mental illness receive Recovery oriented services best suited to their individual strengths and needs. Among other tasks, our laundry aide is responsible for collecting soiled linen, washing and distributing clean linen; ensuring that clean and soiled items are separated and handled in a manner that avoids cross-contamination; cleaning and maintaining laundry equipment and laundry area; removing worn/torn linen from circulation; and maintaining inventory of linen. Additionally, although our residents are encouraged and supported in washing their personal clothing items independently, at times this may become the responsibility of the Laundry Aide for a variety of reasons. The laundry aid may also be assigned to general housekeeping tasks on the floors in resident rooms, common areas and offices.
ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE SOME LAUNDRY/HOUSEKEEPING EXPERIENCE. SOME EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH INDIVIDUALS WITH MENTAL ILLNESS IS PREFERRED. THE OPENING IS FIRST SHIFT 7-3:30AM SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.
