Role Description
The Water Safety Instructor is responsible for providing swim instruction and ensuring the safety of participants during lessons. Daily tasks include teaching and leading swim classes, supervising aquatic activities, demonstrating proper swimming techniques, and maintaining safety protocols both in and around the water. The instructor will also collaborate with staff to create a safe and engaging learning environment. This is a full-time, on-site role located in New Rochelle, NY.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in swim instruction and delivering engaging swim lessons to individuals or groups
- Strong swimming and aquatics skills with an understanding of water safety practices
- Experience or certification in lifeguarding and ensuring the safety of participants in aquatic environments
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for instructing and motivating learners of varying ages and abilities
- Certification as a Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or equivalent is required
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications are required
- Ability to work well with students and staff in a team-oriented environment
