Duties
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment such as trackhoes, bulldozers, loaders, excavators, and related machinery.
- Perform work related to roadwork, grading, trenching, sewer, water, and storm drain installations.
- Conduct pre-operation equipment inspections to ensure machinery is safe and functional.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and grading requirements to complete tasks accurately.
- Coordinate with supervisors, foremen, and team members to meet project deadlines and expectations.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance, including routine troubleshooting and minor repairs.
- Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and OSHA regulations on job sites.
- Maintain a clean, organized job site and ensure proper storage of equipment after use.
- Communicate equipment issues and project updates promptly to supervisors.
Qualifications
- 3 years of proven experience operating heavy equipment, including trackhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and excavators.
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans, blueprints, and construction documents.
- Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and the ability to work safely at all times.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and work in various weather conditions and rugged terrain.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus).
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with roadwork, trenching, utility installations, and storm drain projects.
- OSHA certification or other relevant safety training certifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
