Our hourly lead production role performs a wide variety of duties in the production, assembly and cleaning of production machine parts and manufacturing suites. Supports the goals of the Production Department, including coordinating between the areas of production to reduce downtime between production runs. Duties may include material inventory, machine operation, assembly/disassembly process and recognition of quality control processes in place.

- 3rd Shift 11:00pm-7:30am ( $2.25 Shift Differential)
Responsibilities
- Responsible to direct their team in a safe and proficient manner to complete any given tasks.
- Reviews the production schedule and works with department leadership to develop a plan and prioritize sanitation tasks based on estimated production run completion times.
- Establishes and/or adjusts work assignments to meet production schedules.
- Assists Production Operators with run procedures (i.e., end line clearance, beginning line clearance, cleans, removal of machine parts and reassembly of machine(s) or line equipment), as needed.
- Operates all cleaning machinery related to sanitation needs as assigned by supervisor, after proper training.
- Confers with Supervisor(s) and Leads to assist activities of other departments
- Assists with s machine set ups; understands regular routines to comply with cGMP guidelines for each specific product.
- Able to read and understand written directions in English, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), work instructions, forms and the Thorne Research Employee Handbook. Employee follows instructions closely, both verbal and written, and communicates effectively with supervisors and fellow employees.
- Minimum High school diploma or GED is required.
- Prior lead and manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Must be able to safely work with ingredients and products that are derived from possibly allergenic sources including, but not limited to, nuts, soy, dairy, fish, and shellfish.
- Possess knowledge of the computers and software required to accomplish the Responsibilities of the job. Use a hand calculator to perform basic math calculations to complete records accurately.

- During disassembly and assembly of machines, employee is able to discern that the parts and tools are the correct ones for the tasks at hand.
- Employee has the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in the units of measurement used in the Production Department, using whole numbers and decimals (for example, grams).
- Must be able to work an entire 8 hour shift, when necessary, in an enclosed room.
- Must be medically qualified to work while using a half-mask respirator or a full-air respirator for up to six hours at a time and be able to follow Thorne Research’s Respiratory Protection Program guidelines.
- Must be able to work in a stationary position as well as move about unassisted.
- Must be able to safely and carefully operate and use assigned production equipment and machinery.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as circumstances arise during the course of a shift as well as climb a ladder unassisted.
- Must be able to operate, activate, use, prepare, and clean production equipment, occasionally grasping with force and using twisting wrist movements, as well as climb a ladder unassisted.
- Must have sufficient range of motion with arms and hands to reach overhead and to the side, often repetitively, during an 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shift.
- Must be able to ascend/descend a ladder while carrying up to 20 pounds of material.
- Must be able to print in a legible manner.
- Must be able to work in a moderate noise level environment.
- Must be able to move or lift items weighing up to 55 pounds from floor to table and from table to floor, often repetitively, during an 8-hour shift.
