Position Summary: The Maintenance Tech Lead follows Maintenance Department procedures and performs specific duties based on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) for the Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Lead will work with the Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Director to lead the shift maintenance team.
Responsibilities
- Leads the shift maintenance team in daily operations and repairs.
- Knows and follows the Maintenance Department policies and procedures and Thorne Research policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Ensures all maintenance personnel are trained in SOP’s and that they are properly followed.
- Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conducts regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify issues.
- Assists the team in the maintenance troubleshooting process before escalating to engineering.
- Actively engages in problem solving initiatives and contributes to reliability process.
- Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs: reviews the work orders daily to ensure everything is properly documented by the team (time spent, materials used, observations of the job, and images or video if necessary).
- Reports safety incidents and major breakdowns to the supervisor immediately.
- Participates in reliability initiatives and FAT's as needed.
- Trains and mentors maintenance team on best practices, lessons learned and safety protocols.
- Ensures updates are made to prints, manuals, troubleshooting guides and procedures as needed.
- Assists supervisors in coordinating work with production areas.
- Supports the supervisors in managing warehouse parts.
- Helps the team with CMMS (Emaint).
- Maintains maintenance shop cleanliness and 5S standards.
- Participates in the defining and development of standards, policies, and procedures pertaining to the Maintenance department.
- Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety, environmental practices, area processes, and waste reduction opportunities.
What You Need
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility is required. Previous experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Food manufacturing preferred.
