Position: Critical Care Paramedic
Reports to: Field Supervisor
Position Requirements:
- 21 years of age or older at the time of hire
- Possess a high school Diploma or GED (degree preferred)
- Nationally Registered Paramedic (2 years of documented field experience)
- Critical Care (FP-C or CC) certification
- BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Basic Life Support Instructor – ASHI and/or AHA (desired)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with ventilator operations
Desired Qualifications:
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification – or obtained within 6 months
- Rapid Sequence Induction/Intubation (RSI) certified
- PHTLS, ITLS, or equivalent
- Prior Critical Care experience
Job Responsibilities:
- Works as a team to successfully oversee a single ambulance operation.
- Response to and completion of requests for service in accordance with organizational policy, industry standards, and scope of practice.
- Timely and accurate completion of patient care reports
- Direct patient care in the emergency and non-emergency setting.
- Completion of daily unit check sheets, ensuring all equipment is on-board and in proper working condition.
- Maintenance of station(s) and unit(s) in accordance with organizational policy
- Public relations and education responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move 150lbs independently (300lbs with a partner)
- Able and willing to be seated, standing, walking, etc. for lengthy periods of time.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
- Ability to successfully mitigate stressful situations with co-worker, healthcare providers, patients, and the general public
- Flexibility to respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for service at any given time while assigned to a shift, including up until, and beyond, scheduled “off” times.
Summary:
The Critical Care Paramedic (CC-P) is responsible for the oversight of all operational and clinical care associated with their assigned unit for the duration of their shift. This includes communication with patients, the public, dispatch, hospitals, etc. In addition, the CC-P will be required to respond to various
requests for service, providing Advanced Life Support and critical care as requested by the PSAP and/or designated communications center. All responses and patient contacts will require the efficient and timely completion of patient care reports via an electronic submission method. Other duties may be assigned as availability and organizational needs allow. Above all else, the CC-P will serve with compassion and professionalism.
Salary : $20 - $30
