What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paramedic Field Supervisor position at Thorne Ambulance Service?
The PARAMEDIC FIELD SUPERVISOR is responsible for the management and clinical oversight of their assigned shift, which includes several Basic and Advanced Life Support resources. The Field Supervisor shall be an advocate for their direct reports, in addition to supporting the goals and vision of the organization. The Field Supervisor will work closely with the area Operations Manager to ensure organizational objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner. Above all, the Field Supervisor shall serve with compassion and professionalism.
Position Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
- 5 Years of Experience as a Paramedic
- Documented, progressive leadership experience
- AHA/ASHI and/or NAEMT instructor credentials (preferred)
- Must have and maintain certification as a State & Nationally Registered Paramedic
- Must meet all current requirements of a Thorne Ambulance Paramedic
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and national EMS regulations
- Ability to lead and supervise multiple generations of providers Physical
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move 150lbs independently (300lbs with a partner)
- Able and willing to be seated, standing, walking, etc., for lengthy periods of time.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
- Ability to successfully mitigate stressful situations with co-worker, healthcare providers, patients, and the general public
- Flexibility to respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for service at any given time while assigned to a shift, including up until, and beyond, scheduled “off” times.
