The Business Analyst will work closely with the Information Technology and Enterprise Data Services teams, collaborating across departments to support system implementations, process improvements, and data-driven initiatives. The role involves gathering and documenting requirements, analyzing data, and supporting both technical teams and business users to ensure successful project outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Document business, functional, technical requirements, and end-user guidelines in JIRA and Confluence.
- Elicit requirements and gauge priorities through inclusive discussions with all stakeholders and team members.
- Organize, facilitate and help manage the implementation of technical projects and system enhancements through Agile or waterfall project methodologies.
- Lead and facilitate daily scrum standups and other meetings with developers, business users, and other business analysts.
- Foster productive working relationships and facilitate discussions within the team, across departments and with vendors.
- Diagram, illustrate, and communicate complex business processes and systems as needed.
- Analyze and test applications and data sets with SQL and other tools like Excel and Power BI.
- Discuss and resolve issues by supporting users and developers.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience as a business analyst.
- Experience assessing existing systems and processes to map technical capabilities to product owner requirements and expectations.
- Experience with user acceptance testing, including forming valid test cases, executing tests, documenting, and supporting others throughout the testing cycle.
- Experience facilitating large meetings, daily standups, or Agile scrum calls.
- Previous experience in the financial services or asset management industry.
- Basic knowledge of IT environments including networking, server technologies, databases, and security.
- Previous experience working in the technical project lifecycle, especially using Agile methodologies.
- Basic SQL querying, data analysis, and data visualization skills.
- Experience in JIRA and Confluence is strongly preferred.
