We’re looking for an experienced Director of Health Information Management (HIM) to lead our HIM department, ensuring the accuracy, security, and compliance of patient medical records. This role plays a critical part in overseeing daily operations, improving processes, and keeping everything aligned with regulatory standards. Responsible for accurate and efficient coding and abstracting within the department to assure accurate information.
Essential Duties:
- Works collaboratively with team to achieve and manage daily/weekly productivity goals
- Reviews and analyzes clinical records for completeness and accuracy
- Oversight of the coding and transcription of medical records for inpatient, outpatient, and professional fee encounters
- Interacts with the revenue cycle department as appropriate
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management preferred
- 5 years in medical records/health information required
- 3 years in a leadership role required
- Must have RHIA certification through AHIMA, CPC or CCS-H, or RHIT certification
