Thorcon Shotcrete and Shoring is a reputable, Colorado-based Geotechnical Contractor. Our technical team specializes in slope stabilization and design-build projects that include Micro-Piles, Shotcrete/Gunite, Rock Bolts & Ground Anchors on DOT, Federal, Heavy Civil, Commercial and Residential projects.
Established in 2014, Thorcon has seen rapid growth since 2018 – posting increases of 30% plus each year. As Thorcon grows our footprint is spreading – we now operate in six states and counting.
We are looking for Laborers to perform physical tasks such as cleaning, removing debris, loading and unloading materials, assembling and disassembling temporary structures, digging trenches, compacting earth, following direction from supervisors and assisting skilled craftspeople with their duties. The job of a laborer varies from day to day. You will perform a variety of duties involving tool use, lifting, carrying and managing equipment and machinery to provide support and aid to the skilled craftspeople on-site.
Each Laborer reports to all of the following: Foreman, Superintendent, and General Superintendent.
Primary Functions
Thorcon pays a competitive wage, which depends on experience. The Laborer position starts at $20.00 per hour. Thorcon offers great growth potential with defined raises as a Laborer’s skill set increases over time. - Shoveling, Moving materials
- Dragging shotcrete & grout hoses
- Installing reinforcing steel
- Mixing grout
- Loading & unloading materials
- Additional tasks as required
- On the Job training
- Learn specialty skills in:
- Grouting
- Drilling Chuck Tending
- Equipment operation
- Drill operation
- Shotcrete application
- Rebar & reinforcement install
- Reading plans & Blueprints
- Promotion & Career pathways
- Must be on time to work
- Reliably getting to and from the jobsite
- Ability to understand and follow directions from site supervisor
- Ability to problem-solve on the spot
- Able to lift 100lbs
- Able to work on your feet for a full shift day after day
- Ability to travel 30% of the time
- Understand and follow all company policies
- Must pass a drug test
- Valid Driver’s License a plus
- High school diploma is preferred
- Well-organized with multi-tasking abilities
- Experience in Construction and Geotechnical construction a plus
