Lawn Care Technician

Thomson Lawn Care is a locally owned and operated business that provides customers with weed, pest and disease control for their lawns.

Thomson Lawn Care is seeking someone that is self motivated and can work independently.

Responsibilities Include:

• Applying fertilizers, pesticides, seed and other products to customers lawns
• Completing the days assigned route within budgeted man hours, with the allotted materials and specifications
• Diagnose pest issues and make recommendations for treatment
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment
• Keeping assigned equipment maintained and reporting broken equipment to manager
• Interacting with clients by routinely answering questions and assuring client satisfaction
• Building relationships with current clients and retaining their business
• Growing the lawn care division through new sales and marketing
• Being able and available for Snow Removal during the Winter months

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a basic knowledge of horticultural practices and procedures
• Be able to apply fertilizers, pesticides, seed, and other products to lawns according to label instructions, while following safety protocols
• Be able to diagnose pest issues and make recommendations for treatment
• Be able to operate a variety of equipment, including a zspray, aerator, dethatcher, power seeder, sod cutter, etc.
• Have basic computer skills
• Be able to operate a truck and trailer combination proficiently
• Have a valid Driver's License
• Need to possess or be able to acquire a Kentucky Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicator License
• Need to possess or be able to acquire a Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT)
• Be consistent and reliable

Pay is $23 to $25 per hour based on experience.

Year-round employment available

Sales and production bonuses offered.
