Job Overview
We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented Personal Lines Insurance Support Specialist to join our Personal Lines department.
This is a full-time, in-person role supporting Personal Lines new business, client onboarding, underwriting follow-up, administrative workflow, and receptionist/front desk backup. The position works closely with a senior Personal Lines Sales Agent and may provide a pathway into a future Personal Lines sales role for the right person.
This is not a remote position and is not initially a sales-production role. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, professional on the phone, comfortable with follow-up, and interested in building a career in insurance.
Duties
- Support Personal Lines new business files from intake through policy issuance.
- Follow up on underwriting requirements, missing information, signatures, payments, inspections, and carrier requests.
- Communicate professionally with clients, carriers, mortgage companies, realtors, lenders, and internal team members.
- Help create a smooth and organized onboarding experience for new clients.
- Maintain accurate notes, documentation, and activity records in agency systems.
- Assist with carrier portals, policy documents, data entry, scanning, and file organization.
- Provide receptionist/front desk backup, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and routing calls.
- Learn carrier appetite, underwriting requirements, coverage basics, and Personal Lines workflow.
- Support department and agency projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior professional office, administrative, client service, insurance, banking, mortgage, real estate, or similar experience.
- Strong organization, follow-up, and attention to detail.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable answering phones and assisting clients in person.
- Ability to work full-time, in person, Monday through Friday in St. Augustine.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through without constant reminders.
- Positive attitude, accountability, and willingness to learn.
- Interest in developing insurance knowledge and potential future sales capability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior insurance agency or Personal Lines experience.
- Florida 4-40, 20-44, or 2-20 insurance license.
- Applied Epic experience.
- Experience with underwriting follow-up, client onboarding, receptionist coverage, or administrative support.
Insurance experience is helpful, but we are open to training the right person who has strong professional office experience, excellent follow-through, and a serious interest in an insurance career.
Compensation
$22–$25 per hour, depending on experience, licensing, and insurance knowledge.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday.
Work location: In person, downtown St. Augustine, FL.
