Assistant FOH Manager
Thompson Street Tavern is ready to build our management team! We are a privately owned local restaurant specializing in locally sourced ingredients, local beers, and specialty cocktails. We offer lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, and brunch on Sundays. We have a full bar, patio, and soon to offer private dining and catering options. Our assistant FOH manager will be responsible for overseeing these operations alongside our general manager and in collaboration with the kitchen manager.
The ideal candidate is someone with strong interpersonal skills, likes to talk to the customers, and has strong leadership qualities. We’re looking for someone who wants to be part of an amazing fast-growing team and is looking for a long-time home.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Developing and implementing training strategies for FOH employees
- Interviewing and hiring waitstaff, bartenders, and hostesses
- Shift planning
- Managing schedules of all front of house employees
- Developing customer relationships
- Handling escalated customer issues
- Ensuring all staff is following company policies
- Providing disciplinary action towards employees when necessary
- Overseeing daily operations
- Responsible for cash transactions, discounts, and deposits
- Proficiency with restaurant’s POS system
- Strong “on the floor” presence
Assistant Manager Requirements:
- High school or equivalent education level
- 5 years industry experience
- 1-2 years management experience
- Full time availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ServSafe Certification preferred
- Familiarity with Toast
- Must be comfortable in a customer-facing role
- Strong organizational and computer skills
