What are the responsibilities and job description for the DEWATERING PRODUCT ASSEMBLER position at Thompson Pump?
Summary: Manually move freight, stock, or other materials or perform other general labor. Assemble, receiving, labeling, storage, packaging, shipment and delivery of all materials and associated services required to support customers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble various components for wellpoint dewatering systems using various tools including drill press, hone, hose cutting tool and PVC glue.
- Bring orders to the warehouse for shipment.
- Unloading and loading of various trucks with orders.
- Unloading and loading of hoses varying in length from ten feet to 50 feet.
- Handle PVC pipe six and eight inch diameter and 20 foot in length.
- Perform daily safety equipment inspections.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Basic understanding of fittings e.g., a 90ºs, 45ºs. Ls, Ts, Reducers etc.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must be able to read and understand the Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc. Employee Handbook, safety plans/programs, safety training materials and Safety Data Sheets.
