Position Overview
Thompson Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical is seeking an experienced HVAC Selling Technician who can confidently run service calls, maintenance appointments, diagnose system issues, and educate homeowners on repair versus replacement options.
This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys helping customers, solving problems, and earning high income through performance-based opportunities. The ideal candidate will be strong technically, customer-focused, and comfortable presenting HVAC system replacement options when needed.
This is not a high-pressure sales environment. We believe in honest recommendations, building trust, and doing what is best for the customer.
Responsibilities
- Run HVAC service, maintenance, and diagnostic calls
- Troubleshoot and repair residential HVAC systems
- Perform system inspections and identify safety or efficiency concerns
- Educate homeowners on repair versus replacement options
- Present HVAC equipment replacement solutions when appropriate
- Build trust and provide 5 Star customer service during every appointment
- Communicate clearly with customers, technicians, installers, and office staff
- Read schematics and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues
- Maintain accurate job notes and documentation
- Assist junior technicians with technical support and leadership
- Follow company processes, procedures, and safety standards
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and work vehicle
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of HVAC service experience preferred
- Experience with residential HVAC systems including furnaces, heat pumps, condensers, air handlers, and mini splits
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience presenting repair and replacement options preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Leadership mindset with a positive attitude
- EPA Certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
