Imagine starting your morning with a quick sweep of multiple commercial properties across Texas and a few company-owned locations. You review overnight irrigation alerts, set the day’s priorities, and dispatch crews. By mid-morning, you’re onsite conducting quality walks—checking turf health, edging lines, and overall curb appeal. After lunch, you coordinate seasonal projects like flower rotations and mulch installation, then huddle with team members to coach, train, and reinforce safety. You close the day reviewing invoices, aligning spend to budget, and confirming tomorrow’s schedules. That’s a day in the life of our Regional Grounds Maintenance Operations Lead.

What You’ll Oversee

• Direct landscape maintenance for multiple commercial and company-owned properties in Texas, ensuring consistent standards for appearance, safety, irrigation, and curb appeal.
• Conduct routine site inspections to validate quality, safety, and cleanliness of grounds, parking lots, walkways, and exterior common areas.
• Develop and manage maintenance calendars for mowing, trimming, edging, fertilization, weed control, irrigation, and seasonal plantings.
• Monitor irrigation systems, coordinate troubleshooting, and schedule timely repairs.
• Plan and execute seasonal initiatives including flower rotations, tree trimming, mulch installation, and storm cleanup.
  
  

Team Leadership

• Lead and support landscape crews and contractors; assign daily tasks and track productivity.
• Provide coaching, training, and ongoing performance feedback.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety.
• Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members.
  
  

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce company safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and environmental guidelines.
• Facilitate regular safety meetings and equipment inspections.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  
  

Budget & Vendor Management

• Assist with budgeting and cost control for operations.
• Track inventory for materials, tools, and equipment.
• Coordinate vendors and contractors for specialized services and repairs.
• Review invoices to confirm services meet contract specifications.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; additional horticulture, landscaping, or facilities management training preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of commercial landscape maintenance experience.
• Prior supervisory or crew leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems, plant care, turf maintenance, and landscaping equipment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple properties and priorities simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and mobile communication applications.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Operate landscaping equipment and vehicles safely.
  
  

Work Environment

• Primarily outdoor, multi-site commercial setting.
• Occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency response during severe weather events.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Experience managing landscaping vendors and contracts.
