Part-Time Pharmacist

Thompson Pharmacy & Medical is looking for a dependable, patient-focused Part-Time Pharmacist to join our team in Traverse City.
We are an independent community pharmacy that takes pride in providing personalized service and building long-term relationships with our patients. We are looking for a pharmacist who enjoys working directly with patients, collaborating with pharmacy staff, and being part of a friendly, locally focused team.
Position Overview
The Part-Time Pharmacist will be responsible for safely and accurately dispensing medications, counseling patients, reviewing prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, and supporting the daily operation of the pharmacy.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced pharmacist looking for a part-time schedule in an independent pharmacy environment.
Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Counsel patients regarding medications, proper use, side effects, and potential interactions
- Perform drug utilization review and identify potential medication-related concerns
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare providers when clarification is needed
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and pharmacy regulations
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain patient confidentiality
- Work closely with pharmacy technicians and other staff members
- Assist with workflow, inventory, medication management, and general pharmacy operations
- Help maintain a professional, organized, and patient-friendly pharmacy environment
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Michigan Pharmacist License
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited pharmacy program
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a busy community pharmacy setting
- Previous retail or community pharmacy experience preferred, but not required
