These individuals have the ability to influence the overall restaurant experience by their interactions that include providing table accommodations and offering menu recommendations.

Essential Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities

• Foster a relationship with clients and providing outstanding services
• Welcome and greet customers for their patronage, ensuring completeness and consistency of hostess area
• Being available to attend calls, aiding servers
• Supervising host bookings
• Handling clients amicably
• Creating a guest and impressive first impression on guests
• Handling all cases with utmost courtesy and professionalism
• Maintaining diplomacy while dealing with clients
• Trains all new Host/Hostess to use our software and to take patient meal orders following dietary guidelines
• Carries on by making separate large parties’ reservations from 1 person to 20 people
• Handles all types of situations from an intoxicated guest to what’s on our menu
• Assigns patrons to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of seating
• Speaks with patrons to ensure satisfaction with food and service, to respond to complaints, or to make conversation
• Answers telephone calls and responds to inquiries or transfer calls
• Maintains contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly and customers’ concerns are addressed
• Answers, and log all of our departments incoming telephone calls while assuring all client requests are met quickly
• Greet and encourage feedback from customers and used feedback to implement positive changes within the restaurant and GM
• Consistently provide professional, friendly and engaging service
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage o uphold proper health standards
• Set dining tables according to type of event and service standards
• Routinely clean work areas, glassware and station during shift
• All other duties as assigned by leadership
  
  

Knowledge/ Skills

• Knowledge of guest service etiquette and proper food and beverage serving techniques
• Ability to perform all host-related tasks and proficiently use job-related software, property management systems and office equipment
• Ability to remain calm in various situations, use sound judgement and effectively solve problems
• Ability to work quickly, prioritize, and maintain service at multiple tables at a time
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedural manuals
• Ability to demonstrate cash handling procedures and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, upgrades and percentages
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
• Refined verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work weekends & holidays as needed
  
  

Work Environment/Conditions

• Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office.
• Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration.
• Must be fast paced & organized to work different outlets at different times during business demands
  
  

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to see, hear, reach, use fingers to handle and feel, and stand and walk up to 8 hours on a daily basis.
• Push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs.
