Responsibilities
- Ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, glassware, utensils, and equipment used in the kitchen.
- Operating the dishwasher and following proper procedures for loading and unloading items.
- Sorting, stacking, and organizing clean dishes and utensils in designated storage areas.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area, including sweeping and mopping floors and wiping down surfaces.
- Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling of chemicals and sanitizing solutions.
- Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of clean dishes.
- Following all safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Providing support to the kitchen team as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to help in various tasks.
Physical Requirements:
- Dishwashing experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
- Able to read documents and written instructions to understand sanitation requirements, safety rules, equipment operation and maintenance, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Certification in food safety and sanitation is a plus.
- Able to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends, and all holidays.
- Stand for long hours, often in wet conditions.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs (racks of dishes, garbage bags).
- Work in a hot, humid, and fast-paced environment.
- Bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely.
