What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse - Pre-Admission Testing Center - Days position at Thompson Health?
Schedule: Full time, days. 36 hours per week Monday-Friday (will have a mix of 8 and 10 hour shifts)
The Pre-Admission Testing Center (PATC) Registered Nurse is responsible for preparing patients for upcoming surgical or procedural care by completing a pre-operative assessment. This role ensures patients are informed and cleared prior to their scheduled procedure and works closely with the APP to ensure the patient is medically optimized for their procedure.

Main Function:
- Conduct detailed pre-operative nursing assessments, including medical history, medication review, allergies, risk factors and functional status
- Perform or coordinate diagnostic testing as ordered (for example- labs, EKGs, chest X-rays)
- Identify abnormal results and relay concerns to providers
- Provide detailed pre-procedure instructions to patients
- Educate patients about anesthesia processes
- Identify potential barriers to safe surgery or procedure
Qualifications:
- NYS licensed registered nurse required
- Current BLS required
- CAPA preferred
Education:
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- BSN preferred
Experience:
- Experience in pre-op, PACU, med-surg, critical care or outpatient surgery required
Position Pay Range: $38.00-50.00/hour
Starting Pay: Based on experience
