Greenhouse Manager/Grower

We are seeking an dependable and detail-oriented Greenhouse Manager/Grower to lead our planting operations within a greenhouse environment. Preferably, the candidate would have a degree in Horticulture with a focus on greenhouse production. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee all aspects of plant growth, crop production, and horticultural management. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in greenhouse cultivation, irrigation management, pest control, and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily greenhouse operations, ensuring optimal plant health and productivity through effective crop scheduling and environmental controls
• Oversee irrigation systems and manage irrigation schedules to maintain proper moisture levels for various crops
• Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for planting, pruning, harvesting, and pest management to ensure consistency and quality
• Maintain detailed records of crop production, environmental conditions, pest control activities, and irrigation schedules for compliance and continuous improvement

Skills

• Greenhouse experience with a strong understanding of horticulture principles and crop cultivation techniques
• Proficiency in irrigation management
• Knowledge of plant pest control methods and integrated pest management practices
• Ability to operate hand tools, mechanical equipment, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently
• Works well with a team and has excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related crop treatment and fertilization.
• Physical ability for heavy lifting, standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, and performing outdoor tasks in various weather conditions

Additional Requirements:

Forty hours per week except in May where OT is required. Flexible scheduling on the off season based on need.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
