Quality Inspector II
Location: Farmington, NH

Reports To: Quality Supervisor / Quality Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Quality Inspector II is responsible for performing routine visual and mechanical inspections of manufactured components and assemblies in accordance with approved technical documentation, inspection methods, and quality standards. This role supports product conformance by accurately evaluating parts for acceptability and works collaboratively with Engineering and Quality teams to support control plans, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections using established inspection methods, tools, and technical documentation.
- Collect inspection data as directed and perform independent data collection as training and experience allow.
- Identify inspection characteristics and work with supervision or Engineering to correctly interpret prints, tolerances, and inspection methods.
- Accurately record inspection results and communicate findings to Quality and Manufacturing teams.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities as required.
- Support and sustain 5S standards and general workplace organization.
- Follow all applicable safety, ISO, and quality system procedures at all times.
- Maintain reliable on-site attendance and punctuality as an essential function of the role.
- Support other departments or facilities as business needs require.
- Work overtime or extended hours, including second shift coverage, when necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support quality and production objectives.
Education, Experience & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Quality Inspector (or equivalent) in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to learn inspection techniques and quality requirements through on-the-job training and mentorship.
- Basic proficiency in blueprint reading.
- Basic understanding of GD&T concepts.
- Experience using common inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, and similar tools.
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, both verbally and in writing, regarding quality issues and training needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands for fine motor tasks and inspection activities.
- Occasional lifting of materials or components weighing up to 35–40 pounds.
