Duties
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and air brake components using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on tractor-trailers to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques for assembly, fabrication, and equipment repair tasks.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs using automotive diagnostics tools while adhering to safety standards.
- Complete detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and inspection records accurately for each job performed.
- Assist with tire service, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, and HVAC system repairs on various machinery.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Diesel Technician or Heavy Equipment Mechanic in a dealership or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes (including air brake systems), suspension components, and HVAC systems.
- Hands-on experience tractor-trailers.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools and the ability to perform heavy lifting safely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service aptitude to communicate effectively with clients.
- Certifications or experience related to automotive repair, electrical systems, welding or fabrication are highly desirable.
