We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist for our San Diego Branch, within the construction materials supplier industry. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of California Preliminary Notice (20-day prelim) processes and lien rights compliance.
This role is essential in supporting branch-level credit and AR operations, ensuring timely collections, accurate account management, and strict adherence to California construction notice and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle Accounts Receivable for construction projects
- Prepare, track, and send California Preliminary Notices (20-day prelims)
- Monitor lien deadlines and protect lien rights
- Handle Mechanic’s Liens, Intent to Lien notices, and collections escalation
- Follow up on past due accounts and resolve billing disputes
- Reconcile customer accounts, payments, and credits
- Work closely with sales associates, Credit Team, and customers
- Maintain accurate job-level tracking in accounting systems
Required Qualifications
- 2 years AR experience (construction industry strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of California Preliminary Notice requirements
- Experience with lien processes and collections
- Familiar with construction billing and releases.
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills
