Job Summary
The Outside Sales Representative is a key field position reporting to the Sales Director and will manage medium-to large accounts in an assigned territory with accountability and oversight of smaller accounts along with their Inside Sales Representative partner.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for representing, leading and directing all Thomco sales activity for assigned accounts. This includes: relationships, account maintenance, business development, bids, quotes, contracts and purchase agreements; blanket orders; price increases; problem solving; quality issues and other items that might arise.
- Will be responsible for achieving Sustained Profitable Growth and for Finding, Winning, and Keeping business and identifying new sales opportunities to meet or exceed sales targets and goals.
- Will represent the company in all product lines and industries that the company serves.
- Will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels for product being stocked specifically for their accounts.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing or related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 to 10 years of proven sales experience.
- Industrial distribution sales experience is greatly valued.
- Industrial converting (die-cuts) sales experience is greatly valued.
- Custom label sales experience is greatly valued.
- Must be highly motivated to achieve sales results and strong desire to exceed goals.
- Ability to develop interpersonal relationships with customers, Thomco associates and vendors.
- Good verbal, written and phone communications skills.
- Good organizational, planning & time management skills.
- Basic computer skills: MS Word, Email, CRM and Excel.
- Must be a team player.
- Tenacious, persistent and goal oriented.
- Candidate must be able to learn and demonstrate strong skills as follows: product knowledge, industry and market knowledge, converting process knowledge, and application knowledge.
- Must have strong basic math skills, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability to bring innovative and effective solutions to our customers.
- Must be driven to serve customers and ensure an excellent customer experience.
