Job Summary
Plant Manager for Thomaston Finishing located in Easely South Carolina. Our company has been in business since 1899. Many of our associates have been with the company for over 20 years. Our markets include hospitality, healthcare, government and retail. Thomaston manufactures bed sheets and other textile products by taking greige fabric and bleaching or dying it, inspecting and putting it up on rolls to be sent to our sewing factory in Georgia. Our devotion to quality, and the loyalty of our valued customers have allowed us to carry on our legacy and continue proudly manufacturing in the USA
Duties
- Develop and motivate hourly employees to maximize productivity
- Maximize equipment operation and efficiency
- Chemical purchasing
- Maintain quality standards
- Ensuring shade/color are consistent to customer standards
- Training associates on the safe and proper handling of chemicals and equipment
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to maintain smooth operations
- Maintain high level of housekeeping to keep a safe working environment
- Plan and organize maintenance on equipment
- Manage wastewater process and reporting
- Plan and organize shift operations
- Partner with production manager to ensure production goals for products are met
Experience
- Prior leadership/management experience in textile bleaching and dyeing
- Hands-on expertise with dyeing and finishing processes specifically continuous bleaching, pigment dying on a tenter frame, chemicals required for the processes and a strong knowledge of fabric quality standards
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to a proactive approach to fostering a safe work environment
- Experience managing wastewater
