Thomaston Physical Therapy is looking for Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team for per diem work
Must be Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant
This is a in the office -Per Diem position with W2 payroll.
Per Diem for any day of the week in the office for coverage.
Could work up to Part-Time if you would like.
Physical Therapist Assistant Responsibilities:
- Treat patients according to the goals set up by the physical therapist
- Educate patients on their condition and treatment plan
- Instruct patients on how to perform exercises and use assistive devices
- Monitor patients' progress and report back to the physical therapist
- Document patient care in the EMR/EHR medical record with in 24 hours
- Maintain a clean and safe treatment area
- Assist with patient transfers and positioning
- Stay up-to-date on the latest physical therapy techniques and research
- Be able to work with Primarily geriatric patients as well as pediatric.
- Be able to provide Aquatic Therapy and assist in the pool when needed.
- Knowledge of Orthopedic, Sport Medicine/injuries, & more.
- Provide hands-on therapy such as trigger point therapy to relieve pain and improve mobility
- Use EMR/EHR system, computer, answer phone calls if admin is not in the office, administrative task & help office staff when needed.
- Work with the patients family and the patient's care team
- Use Aquatic pool pool for patients and get into the pool when necessary
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
Skills:
- Excellent patient care skills to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients during therapy sessions
- Experience working with pediatric/geriatric patients and understanding their unique needs and challenges
- Orthopedic, aquatic, and sport medicine physical therapy
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately document patient progress and communicate with colleagues
- Ability to work effectively in a outpatient therapy particularly in acute care situations
- Excellent Bed side manner and customer service. Work along side staff in a professional manner.
Provider will need to have a NPI 1 #, CAQH#, CT License, Malpractice Insurance, and be able to provide three professional references in the medical field that you have worked for or currently work for.
Employee will have workers comp coverage.
Pay: $ $40.00 per hour
