Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with construction plans and blueprints.
- Read and interpret schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings to ensure precise installation and repairs.
- Perform pipe threading, pipe fitting, welding, and use of hand tools and power tools to complete plumbing tasks efficiently.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, plumbing building codes, gas piping systems regulations, and safety regulations.
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate plumbing installation within larger project timelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and adhere to safety protocols during all activities.
- Assist with remodeling projects or handyman tasks requiring plumbing expertise as needed.
- Operate heavy lifting equipment safely when handling large pipes or fixtures on construction sites.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about work progress and solutions.
Experience
- Minimum of five years of construction experience specializing in plumbing installation and repair.
- Proven ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans accurately.
- Hands-on experience with welding techniques related to plumbing systems.
- Knowledge of plumbing building codes, local regulations, and safety standards applicable to residential and commercial projects.
- Familiarity with mechanical knowledge including gas piping systems, pipe threading, pipe installation, and system maintenance.
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on commercial plumbing projects or large-scale renovations.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as wrenches, pipe cutters, threaders; power tools; and heavy lifting equipment.
- Strong understanding of MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) practices for ongoing system upkeep.
- Ability to read technical schematics accurately while applying basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Valid commercial driver’s license preferred for transporting materials or equipment between sites.
