Duties
- Safely operate Class A commercial tractor-trailers with manual transmissions or Automatics across designated routes, ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations.
- Ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
- Transport a variety of cargo types.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and route logs; complete necessary documentation for each trip.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Follow route schedules diligently while adapting to traffic conditions and delivery priorities.
- Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials (Hazmat) by adhering to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Hazmat certification with appropriate endorsements for transporting hazardous materials safely.
- Proven experience in truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers, freight delivery, or drayage operations.
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks.
- Strong knowledge of route driving best practices and safety procedures for commercial trucking.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude toward safety compliance and customer service.
