Job Description
Thomas Sumter Academy seeks a full-time High School Math Teacher. Our ideal candidate enjoys working with students across a wide range of abilities and interests and are committed to their own professional growth. We seek a teacher who can instill in our students an appreciation of math both for its own sake and as an interdisciplinary problem solving tool.
Responsibilities
- Support the mission of The Thomas Sumter Academy
- Provide guidance, instruction, and support, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs
- Design innovative, engaging, and differentiated high school math lessons
- Plan assignments and curriculum in collaboration with math teachers and other departments
- Work one-on-one with students daily for support and enrichment
- Implement school policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Teaching experience with Gr. 9-12 – Geometry, Algebra 2, and Stats
- Probability and Stats
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent instructional delivery
- Bachelor’s degree
- State licensure (preferred but not required)
- Interest in collaborating with others.
- Experience using smart boards/Promethean boards and other classroom technology.
- References will need to be provided upon request.
Additional Information
Competitive salary is based on experience, educational degree, and teaching assignment load. Extra-curricular duties may be required of the candidate.
