Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Appointment Scheduler to join our Mental Healthcare team. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth and efficient scheduling process for patients, while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and experience with various electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently and accurately using EHR systems such as ICANOTES
- Verify patient insurance information and handle medical collections as necessary.
- Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide exceptional customer service while handling patient inquiries via multi-line phone systems.
- Assist with clerical duties including filing, typing, and managing health information management tasks.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate care plans and ensure timely patient follow-up.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications and Email system to manage schedules and communicate effectively within the office.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance verification processes, and medical billing practices.
- Proficient in using EHR systems;
- Strong computer skills including typing proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
