What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver Assistant (Helper) position at Thomas & Milliken Millwork?
Thomas & Milliken Millwork is a specialty millwork distributor and millshop serving builders and contractors across northern Michigan. We're looking for a reliable, hard-working Delivery Driver Assistant to ride with our drivers and help get materials safely from our yard to the jobsite.
What You'll Do
- Load and unload doors, windows, trim, lumber, and other building materials at our facility and on jobsites
- Help drivers secure loads properly so product arrives undamaged
- Verify orders against delivery tickets and note any damage or shortages
- Place materials where the customer or site contact wants them, which can mean carrying through mud, snow, or uneven ground
- Keep the truck, yard, and loading areas clean and organized
- Help with yard and warehouse tasks when not out on deliveries
- Represent TM Millwork professionally to contractors and homeowners
What We're Looking For
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and work on your feet all day, outdoors in all seasons
- Dependable, on time, and a good teammate
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Comfortable working around heavy materials and equipment, with a strong safety mindset
- Basic reading and math skills for checking tickets and counts
- Building materials, lumber yard, or construction experience is a plus, but not required. We'll train the right person.
- CDL is not required

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 55.0 per week
