  • Job Summary : CVICU nursing position at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, West Virginia.
  • Description : Responsible for providing critical care to patients with heart conditions, including invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring.

    • Job Requirements

  • Current CVICU experience required.
  • Minimum of one to two years of critical care experience required.
  • Required Certifications : BLS, ACLS.

    • Schedule Information

  • Shifts : 6 : 45 am - 7 : 15 pm or 6 : 45 pm - 7 : 15 am.
  • Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend.
  • Holiday Requirement : Rotational holidays.

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Charge Nurse primarily without patients; House Supervisor available 24 / 7.
  • No nurse aids on this unit; RNs read strips without Monitor Techs.
  • Floating required to ICU and Stepdown if not needed in CVICU.

    • Additional Details

  • Unit : CVICU with 2 beds in PACU initially, transitioning to ICU.
  • Ratios : 1 : 1 for initial phase, then 1 : 2 or 1 : 3 depending on patient needs.
  • Common diagnoses include critically ill patients with heart conditions.
