This role is essential to ensuring smooth kitchen operations and a positive dining experience.What You'll DoEnsure all food is produced in a high quality, timely and consistent manner to meet all menu and customer standards.Follow café guidelines concerning guest services, food and physical safety, maintenance and equipment/space cleaning, requirements at all time. Prepare food items, ensuring consistency and compliance with the Cafe's recipes, portioning, cooking, and waste control guidelines.Have the ability to develop rapport with customers while upholding the values and mission of Thomas Cuisine.Set up and stock sandwich/sliced station with all necessary supplies.Handle, store, and rotate all products in the station or walk-in cooler properly.Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.Follow proper techniques and proper presentation of all dishes.Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to company and state regulations.Maintain positive, respectful, professional approach, communication, and workplace conduct with customers and team.Report all unsafe working conditions, operational needs, and equipment or aspects of the kitchen in of repair to management.Perform other duties as assigned by the Cook or Chef.What You Will BringPrevious culinary experience in a scratch kitchen Excellent knife skillsPositive, upbeat attitudeAttention to detail; cleanlinessAbility to walk and stand during the entire shift if neededAbility to interact and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, team members and guestsServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations. High School Diploma/GED Physical and Sensory RequirementsThis job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds frequently, and perform repetitive tasks. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibration may occur.
