Summary
The Director of Strategic Finance is a senior leader responsible for shaping and executing the financial strategy for Jefferson Health Plans (JHP). This role serves as a key advisor to enterprise leadership and plays a central part in driving financial performance, supporting strategic initiatives, and advancing long term organizational goals. The Director partners extensively with internal leaders, industry associations, and external stakeholders to strengthen JHP's financial position, promote operational excellence, and ensure alignment with enterprise priorities.

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership for Strategic Finance functions, including MCAP/Stewardship and VSOT governance, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and strong vendor oversight.
  • Maintain impactful executive-level relationships across internal leaders, industry associations, and strategic partners to advance enterprise financial priorities.
  • Collaborate with Population Health, Contracting, and ELT leaders to accelerate Value-Based Care strategies and initiatives that improve enterprise value and financial performance.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and drive strategic ventures and enterprise initiatives.
  • Lead strategic planning in partnership with Strategy, FP&A, and HCE, leveraging data science, predictive analytics, and financial modeling to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Drive enterprise-wide expense optimization, resource stewardship, governance, and compliance in collaboration with the Controller and Director of FP&A
  • Ensure operational excellence within the Strategic Finance function, including talent development, process improvement, and adherence to regulatory and performance requirements.
  • Coordinate with the enterprise ERM team and oversee maintenance and documentation of the Health Plan ORSA.
  • Lead the assessment and development of Strategic Finance talent needs, building a high-performing team through thoughtful evaluation of current capabilities, strategic hiring, and alignment of existing roles to support evolving organizational priorities.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline.
  • 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare financial analytics or strategic finance. and
  • 7 years of leadership experience managing teams and using analytics to inform enterprise-level decision-making.
  • Extensive experience leading complex financial, actuarial, or strategic functions within a health plan or healthcare enterprise.
  • ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries), in good standing or CPA - Certified Public Accountant - State of Pennsylvania
  • Licenses with restrictions may be evaluated for role relevance


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 15 years of healthcare financial analytics experience.


Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
