We have some barista positions open at our 3 Spokane Valley locations (6630 E Sprague, Spokane Valley Mall, and Providence Valley Medical Center). The shifts are a mix of morning, afternoon & evenings, 15-29 hours/week depending on your availability & performance. Weekend & Monday availability is crucial.

Job Summary
The Barista position at Thomas Hammer Coffee Roasters is a vital role which places significant focus on making the customer happy with products that are superior in taste, quality and value.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Passionately share Thomas Hammer offerings and bring a positive attitude and high energy to daily interactions
- Customer Service
- Cashiering
- Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks such as coffee, non-coffee, blended beverages, & beer/wine (21 ) to company standard
- Plating, heating & finishing ready-to-eat food offerings.
- Quality Control (testing coffee product to endure standards are met)
- Describing menu items and suggesting products to customers
- Packaging food & baked goods for to-go sales
- Sharing product knowledge with customers to encourage sales
- Cleaning
- Stocking
- Duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Food and Beverage Worker’s Permit for WA State employees (within 7 days of hire)
- Display positive, high energy
- 1 year Coffee experience highly desired
- 1 year of Food service can substitute for barista experience
- Clear thinking
- Ability to multi-task
- Willingness to do the right thing
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The employee often works inside lobby and/or drive thru. The noise level in the work environment can range from moderate to loud. Temperature can fluctuate from warm to cool.
Some minor travel may be required to other regional locations to assist with staffing needs or to accommodate group meetings.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear to exchange information.
The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb and balance; bend at the waist, stoop, kneel, and crouch; taste and smell; and perform work which involves occasionally lifting, pushing and or pulling of objects which may approximate 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
