What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Technician-2nd Shift position at Thomas Foods International?
We're Hiring 2 QA Technicians for 2nd Shift in our Warehouse.
Schedule: 6pm-6am Sunday-Wednesday, or 6pm-6am Wednesday-Saturday
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The purpose of this role is to ensure the overall Quality and Food Safety of our Beef and Lamb products at our Swedesboro facility. Must be well-versed in the Quality standards set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture and other Regulatory agencies pertaining to processed meat products. Provide clear and concise documentation reports on a daily basis regarding the operation as well as the Good Manufacturing Practices of the plant and company personnel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Conduct Pre-Operational and Operational Inspections and document findings.
- Review finished product labels in the Re-pack Room and prepare processing for the next day.
- Perform Warehouse Documentation reviews.
- Execute Temperature Monitor Checks in accordance with the established HACCP program.
- Perform Receiving Inspections.
- Communicate Foreign Object discoveries and provide root cause identification and corrective action measures.
- Inspect returned goods, document findings, and provide disposition.
- Perform for Sale Inspections.
- Perform Shelf-Life testing and assist in sampling collection.
- Provide Chemically Lean testing results and fat testing.
- Execute ATP environmental swabbing in the facility (both food contact and non-food contact surfaces).
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-2 years of experience in a fast paced, food manufacturing environment
- Meat exposure / meat experience a plus
- HACCP Certified preferred
- USDA manufacturing exposure/experience a plus
- Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook; able to complete formulas
- Ability to clearly speak, read, and write in English
- Excels as a team player
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by Thomas Foods International, USA
