About the Job
Reporting directly to the Sr. Buyer, the role is a high‑visibility, high‑impact role within the Purchasing at TFI USA.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Handle all purchasing activities; ensure all products are bought competitively and are sufficient and within spec for requirements and aligned with sales targets
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain adequate stock while minimizing excess inventory.
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions and production requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms with suppliers.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Evaluate supplier performance regarding quality, cost, and delivery.
- Resolve issues related to shortages, late deliveries, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
- Coordinate with production, planning, warehouse, and accounting teams to ensure material availability.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Assist with supplier audits, sourcing projects, and contract management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and purchasing procedures.
- Perform other duties and support other activities assigned by the Management within scope and ability
Requirements/Education/Experience/Skills
- 2 yrs degree in business or similar field of study preferred with 2-5 years’ experience or 7-10 years’ experience in a purchasing role
- Ability to build and sustain vendor relationships
- Strong analytical skills (statistics, economics, modeling)
- Strong organizational skills, handling workload and complexity
- Ability to interface with all levels of company staff in a wide variety of business situations
- Excellent problem-solving, issue resolution and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills and ability to ensure deadlines are met
