What are the responsibilities and job description for the Learning Specialist/Special Educator, Long Term Substitute position at THOMAS FLEMING SCHOOL?
Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has an opportunity for a Long-Term Substitute Special Educator to join the team at Thomas Fleming School. This position involves evaluating and developing intervention programs with a focus on literacy, math, and behavior. Responsibilities include case management of student plans including EST, 504, and IEP.
Pay: $300 per day
Duration: Begining immediately through 5/15/2026 with the possibility of extension.

Candidates with the following additional qualifications are encouraged to apply:
- Valid VT Educator license with a Special Educator (3-82) or Consulting Teacher (3-85) endorsement. Individuals who hold a corresponding teaching license outside the state of VT shall be considered equally.
- Strong math, literacy, and/or behavior background
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a teaching team
- Successful co-teaching experience is preferred but not required
- Possess knowledge and skill in implementing standards-based curricula, differentiated instruction, and formative assessment in a collaborative environment.
